the privilege of examining at the August,
1975 Knife Crafters convention and show in Kansas City. Ron uses a special
technique to give an aged and antique finish to the blades, with
authentic-looking hammer marks on the hilt and cross-piece. Handle slabs are of
tiger maple, and if you didn't know your knives, you would swear that the weapon
had been made in the 1830's.

All this success, which has been so well earned,
callnot be attributed to Ron alone. His lovely wife Selena is entitled to nmch
of the credit. With two small daughters to raise and care for, Selena Wilson
still finds time to attend many of the gun shows at which they exhibit. At the
same time she handles all the heavy load of office work involved in Ron's
business--correspondence, catalogs, bookkeeping, stock ordering and all the
other functions of a good office manager. Their costumes, reflecting the garb of
frontier days, are well-known at the gun shows and muzzleloading shoots. They
make a very attractive couple--a real credit to our sport.
The assortment of photos displayed herein show only a
few of the selection and creative features of the Wilson producls. For instance,
Ron makes an unusual Bowie knife with a tooth-bristling bear-jaw handle. He says
that this model, for some strange reason, is especially popular with wonmn
customers.
His catalog, which features photos and the details of his
assorted knives and tomahawks, is available upon request. Simply write directly
to: Ron W. Wilson, P.O.Box 2012, Weirton, West Va., 26062. Please include a
dollar with your request to help pay for mailing and printing costs. It may take
a wait of a year or even two on some items--especially on tamahawks, or for a
custom-made hawk or knife crafted on special order which makes up much of his
business--but it should be well worth the waiting period for a Wilson
masterpiece in metal.
For as Ron says: "I make every knife and every toma-hawk
as carefully as though I were making it for myself--and that means my very best
work."
That type of assurance should be good enough for any
collector!
